Plant Breeding Center

The plant breeding center at North Carolina State University
has one of the largest plant breeding programs in the U.S. The center is interdepartmental,
and involves a full range of research programs, courses,
and crops. Plant breeders at NC State are based in different
colleges (Natural Resources, and Agriculture and Life Sciences),
and departments (including Crop Science, Emtomology, Forestry, Genetics,
Horticultural Science, and Plant Pathology), as well as the USDA-ARS.
Dr. Charles Stuber is the first director of the Plant Breeding Center. Dr. Stuber reports to Dr. Steven Leath. Initial efforts have been aimed at planning the new center, and raising funds for graduate student fellowships.
