Seed Company Jobs Available in Plant Breeding

Information from 2001 survey of U.S. seed companies

Numbers in table body are total students (agronomy / horticulture only); 31 seed companies have been summarized below; out of 88 seed companies total.

Notes:

B.S. degree: university training in plant sciences is common (plant breeding specialization usually occurs for graduate studies at the M.S. or Ph.D. levels).

Seed companies sometimes do not have plant breeders on staff, but make use of independent plant breeders (especially common in floricultural breeding).
