Welcome to the Cucurbit Breeding Project under the direction of Todd C. Wehner. Project areas include: the collection and evaluation of exotic cucumber germplasm, quantitative breeding for pickling and slicing cucumbers, screening for post-harvest qualities, disease resistance screening and breeding, seed increase, and the rapid dissemination of related information. Completion of such project areas is accomplished through work in our greenhouse facilities, field trials and experiments in numerous Horticultural Research Stations located throughout North Carolina, and computing facilities located in Kilgore Hall.
