Vegetable Breeding Working Group

Part of the American Society for Horticultural Science (ASHS)

Mission

To promote the exchange of information on breeding procedures, screening techniques, and other areas of specific interest to vegetable breeders, to encourage the exchange of germplasm among vegetable breeders, and to maintain current lists of vegetable cultivar names and descriptions.

Requirements for Award Nominations

Send award nominations to the Vegetable Breeding WG chair by March 15 (the WG chair will send the award winner to ASHS by April 15). Nominations should be 1 to 3 pages in length, and include:

  • Accomplishments
  • Biography
  • Justification for Award (will appear on plaque)

Providing skilled graduates, scientific research, and useful germplasm to the cucurbit industry
