Handout - Poster Production (Powerpoint on Windows)

  1. Power On
    1. Start up the Palette.
    2. Let the Palette warm up for about 10 minutes before you start shooting slides. l).
    3. Start up the computer.
    4. Make sure the Palette is on before you start up the computer! The on/off switch is located on the front of the Palette.
    5. Open Powerpoint.
    6. Open your presentation.
  2. Load Film
    1. Use only Fujichrome 100 ISO or Ektachrome Elite 100 ISO 35mm film
    2. Open the camera back and load film. Make sure the end of the film is pulled across and the holes engage the teeth in the winder.
    3. Film advances automatically when back is closed.
    4. Verify:
      1. Film counter is on 1.
  3. Set up Palette
    1. Remember you are Printing to the Polaroid Palette when shooting slides.
    2. Select Page Setup from File pulldown menu.
    3. Verify:
      1. 35mm slides and size equal to 11.25 X 7.5 inches
      2. Landscape or portrait orientation depending on your presentation
      3. Number slides on 1
    4. Click OK
  4. Set Slide Size
    1. Select Print from File pulldown menu
    2. Verify:
      1. Printer = Digital Palette CI-5000
      2. Status = Idle
      3. Type = Digital Palette CI-5000
      4. Where = LPT 2
      5. Comment = RasterPlus 95
      6. Number of Copies = ?
      7. Print Range = All or Type in Page range.
      8. What: Slides
    3. Verify:
      1. No boxes are X'd at the bottom of the page.
  5. Set Slide Size
    1. Click on Properties at the top of the page
    2. Verify:
      1. Paper Size = Power Point (7.5 X 11.25)
      2. Layout = 1 up
      3. Orientation = Portrait or Landscape (according to your presentation)
      4. Paper Source ------- Ignore
  6. Get ready to print
    1. Click on Graphics at the top of the page
    2. Verify:
      1. Resolution = 2048
      2. Ignore the rest of the page
  7. Set film type
    1. Click on Device Options at the top of the page
    2. Within Film Type Select the film you are using
    3. Usually:
      1. Elite II 100 v1 or
      2. Fujichrome Sensia RD II v1 or
      3. Fujichrome RD 100 v1
    4. Click on Apply then on OK
  8. Start printing
    1. Click on OK to Start Printing.
    2. Then look on the Menu at the bottom of the screen and click on
    3. RasterPlus 95 Queue and a status window will appear over your presentation. This shows the status of the processing of your job.
    4. Watch the green Power light on the palette blink when processing starts.
      1. Listen for shutter when first slide starts shooting.
    5. Listen and watch for first slide to advance before leaving Palette unattended
    6. It will take 2-3 minutes to shoot each slide
    7. Failure will stop machine
  9. When printing is finished
    1. Verify:
      1. The green light is no longer blinking
      2. That the film counter shows 24, 36 or one number higher than your last slide (i.e. 21 slides counter = 22.)
      3. Close the RasterPlus 95 Queue box. Do not Save changes.
      4. Close the RasterPlus 95 or minimize it if you will shoot more slides.
    2. Verify:
      1. That your first slide is displayed in Powerpoint.
      2. Press and hold the rewind switch to fully rewind the film. This may take some time!
    3. Make sure that you remove your film promptly and leave the machine as you found it.
